NDS Public Conference 2024 a Major Success

The NDS Public Conference 2024 was an outstanding event held in Frankfurt, Germany, both on-site and online. With a total of 250 participants, including 70 at “re:mynd” event location, the conference was a testament to the growing interest and relevance of the Navigation Data Standard (NDS) in the modern mobility industry. Many presentations and co. centered on industry trends and challenges as well as the various uses of NDS.Live.

With a total of 250 participants, the NDS Conference 2024 was a testament to the growing interest and relevance of the Navigation Data Standard in modern mobility industry.

The day began with a warm welcome by Martin Pfeifle, Chairman of NDS, who opened the conference at 9 am. Björn Oltmanns from Mercedes-Benz then presented how the company is successfully using NDS.Live for its navigation solutions. Clemens Zangl continued the program by explaining how Woven by Toyota uses NDS.Live to create, validate and deliver SD, MD and HD maps on a continental scale. The presentations of NDS member highlights continued with Rose Han of MXNavi talking about the intelligent driving applications based on NDS.Live and Anthony Chen of ZENRIN presenting their NDS databases for Japan. Finally, Olena Slieptsova demonstrated how Intellias uses NDS.Live to model vehicle conditions in Goodyear SightLine. After a short break, Fabian Klebert presented the technical achievements of NDS for the years 2023/2024. Following, Olena Slieptsova again explained the integration of NDS.Live via AUTOSAR, and Timo Munk from BMW discussed the use of NDS in highly autonomous driving functions.

The day began with a warm welcome from Martin Pfeifle, Chairman of NDS.

It was the many practical and application-focused examples from real-life development that brought the NDS Conference lectures to life and conveyed concrete best practices.

After a refreshing lunch break where attendees had the opportunity to share ideas and network, the afternoon program began with more exciting presentations on NDS products from map vendors. Joe Suh and Boris Gumhold from HERE gave an insight into NDS.Live in HERE MapStack, followed by Juniper Gujral from TomTom who discussed TomTom’s use of NDS.Live.

At the end of the conference, Otto Nyiro from NDS presented the upcoming NDS.Live evaluation services before Martin Pfeifle closed the conference at 3pm with a roadmap overview and closing remarks.

After the official end of the conference, attendees eagerly took advantage of the opportunity for further discussion and networking over coffee and cake, making the event even more enriching and enjoyable.
