We, the NDS Association, are happy to welcome Hitachi, Ltd., as our newest member. Hitachi, Ltd. is one of the world’s experienced global performers in advanced IT solutions, energy supply, production and processing systems, mobility, and smart life products and services.
Hitachi, Ltd. is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and was established in 1910 as a manufacturer of five-horsepower electric motors. In its history, Hitachi has not only developed its ability to create products, it has honed its abilities in control and operational technologies and is committed to delivering innovative solutions that combine products, services, and highly sophisticated IT. Over the years Hitachi has diversified its portfolio and focused its group companies on specific industries and services.
As such, Hitachi, Ltd., together with its subsidiary Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd., is developing and introducing new technologies for electric driving, autonomous driving, and connected cars. They are acknowledging that today’s cars are evolving far beyond simply being a means of mobility. Hitachi believes cars are moving into offering increased value to society in areas such as the environment, safety, and comfort. Through Hitachi’s core business areas of powertrain systems, chassis systems – where they have a competitive edge in mechatronics control technologies – and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), they are developing and introducing new technologies such as for electrification and autonomous driving, and are enabling a more connected approach.
