TomTom introduces NDS-based TomTom GO Navigation app

24. September 2020

NDS member TomTom just announced that its TomTom GO Navigation app is now available in all major app stores. Downloadable via the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery, the TomTom GO Navigation app comes with maps that are stored on the driver’s phone, providing a high-definition driving experience even when driving without a mobile network. Once connected, the maps are enhanced by a whole suite of TomTom online services including real-time traffic information and speed camera warnings (in certain countries).

Based on highly precise map data in NDS format, TomTom GO Navigation lets drivers navigate confidently with the latest road information. The app is easy to use and comes with additional features such as Moving Lane Guidance that helps drivers avoid missing last-minute turns at complicated intersections by indicating the correct lanes.

Offline maps can be incrementally updated on a weekly basis, when connected to a network, to reflect speed limit changes, as well as to help drivers with improved routing. TomTom GO Navigation also allows drivers to customize their maps by adding or deleting NDS map regions based on where they want to go. Worldwide maps can be downloaded by country or by region as and when needed, limiting the amount of phone storage used.  Learn more here: https://www.tomtom.com/company/press-releases/news/26431/
