On 15 October 2026, the NDS community will meet in Gothenburg, Sweden, for the NDS Public Conference 2026. Taking place at Näst Innovation Destination Torslanda and online, the conference will bring together experts from the automotive, map-data, and software industries to share practical NDS.Live applications, technical innovation, and perspectives on the future of navigation. The program will run from 09:00 to 16:00 CEST and include presentations from NDS, Volvo Cars, Qualcomm, Intellias, HERE, TomTom, and AAI, followed by networking and further discussion.

A growing NDS community
The conference will open with Johan Löfhede, Volvo Cars and Martin Pfeifle, NDS Chairman. The morning program will also introduce the new NDS members Volvo Cars and Qualcomm, reflecting the continued growth of the NDS ecosystem across the automotive and technology industries.
Faster map updates and practical NDS.Live applications
Olena Slieptsova, Intellias will explore how dynamic feedback integration and an AI-powered Map Scout can help reduce map-update latency. Boris Gumhold, HERE will then present applications of NDS.Live, showing how the NDS map data standard is being used in practice.
Live data and interoperability for automated driving
The late-morning sessions will focus on the role of map data in automated-driving systems. TomTom experts will demonstrate live layers for hazards, traffic, and variable speed limits, as well as operational design domain (ODD) management on NDS.Live. Sana Khan, AAI will share practical insights into interoperability between NDS.Live and OpenDRIVE, connecting production map-data workflows with simulation environments.
Technical progress, AI-assisted development, and certification
In the afternoon, Fabian Klebert, NDS will present the association’s technical achievements from 2025 and 2026. Further sessions will examine agentic coding with NDS.Live and the progress of NDS certification activities.
The next stage of the NDS roadmap
Otto Nyiro, NDS will discuss the trends shaping the NDS roadmap. Martin Pfeifle will then provide an update on NDS.Live Opening and Membership Model before closing the formal program. The conference will conclude with networking and follow-up discussions, giving participants time to continue the day’s technical and strategic conversations.
