The conference began with opening remarks from Martin Pfeifle, Chairman of the NDS Association, and Yasushi Uchino from Zenrin. Martin Pfeifle shared the NDS strategy for the upcoming years, emphasizing the importance of increasing visibility and awareness of NDS standards within the automotive ecosystem. He highlighted the benefits of these standards for map data integration. Yasushi Uchino then discussed current market trends in Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), autonomous driving, and ADAS, providing insights into the future of mobility. The event also saw the NDS Association welcoming new members, including NVIDIA and MQNIC, further strengthening the association.

The conference continued with presentations on real-world applications of NDS.Live, starting with TomTom’s Juniper Gujral, Peter van Hulten, and Shubham Bhusari, who discussed cost-effective and scalable ADAS solutions. They focused on the challenges of automated driving and how NDS.Live improves ADAS navigation, providing a more context-aware driving experience. Benjamin Quattelbaum from BMW followed with insights into developing ADAS maps, underscoring the standard’s impact on the safety of automated driving.

A key session explored NDS products, tools, and innovations. Presentations from NNG, HERE, and Navis AMS showcased practical solutions for NDS.Live evaluation services, integration workflows, and lane-level navigation. These sessions highlighted how developers are accelerating the deployment of NDS standards through advanced toolchains.

A highlight of the event was Fabian Klebert’s presentation on NDS technical achievements, where he introduced the NDS Expert AI Assistant. This AI-powered tool significantly accelerates the adoption of NDS by simplifying complex processes, helping developers quickly ramp up and integrate NDS.Live into their projects.

The conference also featured a presentation from Jeff Ju of MXNAVI, who discussed the challenges and practices of implementing NDS.Live for mass production. His insights into intelligent navigation practices emphasized the scalability of NDS.Live in large-scale production environments. Olena Slieptsova from Intellias then introduced a prototype of NDS.Live Routing and Search Services, supported by evaluation tools that demonstrate the capabilities of NDS.Live for application services.

The following presentation featured a joint talk by Yasushi Uchino from Zenrin and Olena Slieptsova, where they showcased NDS.Classic Update Region in Japan and Zenrin’s Evaluation Service alongside a Statistic Framework developed by Intellias. This framework allows for the collection and visualization of map data statistics based on Zenrin’s maps.

The final session, led by Otto Nyiro from NDS, focused on the future of navigation, discussing how NDS plans to evolve to meet the demands of autonomous driving, connected mobility, and global interoperability. The conference concluded with a successful closing remark from Martin Pfeifle, followed by networking opportunities where attendees could continue their discussions and collaborations.
